邊鄙（悲美反杜注左傳云鄙邊邑也賈注國語云鄙陋也謂邊界郊野之外去國都遼遠名為鄙俗今古正字從邑[口/(百-日+回)]聲[口/(百-日+回)]音同上也）。

Remote border 邊鄙 (fanqie: bei + mei; Du’s commentary on the Zuo zhuan says: “鄙 means a border town.” Jia’s commentary on the Guoyu says: “鄙 means rustic; outside the boundaries and outlying suburbs, far removed from the national capital, is called bi.” The standard form in both ancient and modern times derives from yi 邑 with the phonetic [口/(百-日+回)]; [口/(百-日+回)] is pronounced the same as above).
