推徵（上音吹下陟陵反杜注左傳云徵驗也說文云凡士行於微而聞於朝廷即徵故從壬從微省聲也壬音體郢反）。

推徵 (Inquiring and verifying: The upper character has the sound 吹 [chuī]; the lower has the fanqie 陟陵 [zhǐ]. Du [Yu's] commentary on the Zuo zhuan says: '徵 means to verify.' The Shuowen jiezi says: 'Whenever a scholar acts modestly in obscurity yet his reputation is heard in the court, that is 徵; hence it is derived from 壬 and the abbreviated sound of 微. 壬 has the fanqie 體郢 [tǐng].')
