乏尠（上凡法反說文左傳曰反正為乏下息淺反或作尟集訓云寡也說文從是作尟少聲也或作鮮同也）。

乏尠 (Lacking and few: The upper character has the fanqie 凡法 [fá]. The Shuowen jiezi says: 'The Zuo zhuan says that the reverse of 正 [upright] makes 乏.' The lower character has the fanqie 息淺 [xiǎn]; it is also written 尟. The Jixun says: 'Scant.' The Shuowen jiezi derives it from 是 as 尟, with the sound 少. It is also written 鮮, which is identical).
