鄙𨛋（上悲美反已見前序釋下音里蒼頡篇云國之下邑也說文南陽亭名也從邑里聲也經作俚說文聊也郭璞注方言云苟且也非此用也）。

鄙𨛋 (Vulgar and rustic: The upper character has the fanqie 悲美 [bǐ]; it has already been explained in the preface above. The lower character has the sound 里 [lǐ]. The Cangjie pian says: 'An inferior township of a state.' The Shuowen jiezi says: 'The name of a pavilion in Nanyang; derived from 邑 with the sound 里.' The sūtra text writes 俚; the Shuowen jiezi says [俚 means] 'to chat', and Guo Pu's commentary on the Fangyan says: 'Makeshift'; these are not the usage intended here).
