株杌 (Stump and bare tree: The upper character has the fanqie 知榆 [zhū]. The Kaosheng says: 'The remnant after cutting down a tree.' The Shuowen jiezi says: 'Tree roots; derived from 木 [wood] with the sound 朱.' The lower character has the fanqie 五骨 [wù]. The Yunying says: 'A tree without branches is called 杌.' Character dictionaries say: 'A stump.' It is also written 兀).
