卵生（上欒管反說文凡物無乳而生者卵生也象形古文作[?/八]小篆作[?/八]隸書作卵）。

卵生 (Egg-born: The upper character has the fanqie 欒管 [luǎn]. The Shuowen jiezi says: 'All creatures born without breasts are born from eggs; it is a pictograph.' In ancient script it is written [?/八], in small seal script it is [?/八], and in clerical script it is 卵).
