Suddenly (pronounced 熏 + 律 fanqie. The Jixun says: “All of a sudden.” Xue Zong says: “'Xuhu' (欻忽) means abrupt.” The Shuowen says: “Something blown upwards. It derives from the yawn radical [欠] with '炎' as phonetic.” Alternatively, it is written with the wind radical [風] and '忽' as '䬍'.)
