榭法（上夕夜反考聲云拜恩也說文辭也從言射聲也下法字正體從廌作灋今隸書省去廌作法廌音宅賣反古之神獸也亦名解廌觸不直臣而去之平如水故從水從廌從去今相承從省作法廣雅法令也爾雅常也說文刑也顧野王云法猶揩拭也軌也）。

謝法 (expressing gratitude for the Dharma; the former is xi/ye fan; Kaosheng says: 'To thank for grace'; Shuowen jiezi says: 'To decline or take leave; composed of 言 with 射 phonetic'; the latter, 法, has its standard form with 廌, written 灋; in current clerical script it is abbreviated without 廌 as 法; 廌 is zhai/mai fan, an ancient divine beast also named the xiezhi, which rams unrighteous ministers and drives them away; being level like water, it is composed of 水, 廌, and 去; currently it is conventionally written in the abbreviated form 法; Guangya says 'laws and commands'; Erya says 'constant'; Shuowen jiezi says 'punishment'; Gu Yewang says: '法 is like rubbing clean; a standard').
