稽留（上經霓反考聲云稽滯也說文留止也從旨𮂱聲𮂱音雞古文作乩或作卟下力求反訓與前同考聲久也說文田也從田丣聲今經文變體作留或作留又作㽞展轉訛也丣音酉亦音柳）。

稽留 (delay and detain; the former is jing/ni fan; Kaosheng says: '稽 means delayed'; Shuowen jiezi says: 'To detain and stop; composed of 旨 with 𮂱 phonetic'; 𮂱 is pronounced ji; in ancient script written as 乩 or 卟; the latter is li/qiu fan, with the same meaning as above; Kaosheng says 'long duration'; Shuowen jiezi says: 'Fields; composed of 田 with 丣 phonetic'; in the current sūtra text it is mutated into 留 or 㽞, corrupted through successive transmissions; 丣 is pronounced you, or liu).
