戰慄（之善反下隣一反集訓云戰慄危懼也郭璞云憂慼也說文從戈單聲也或從心作𢥇古文作𣥭慄亦從心栗聲也）。

Trembling (the upper character is pronounced 之 + 善 fanqie; the lower character is pronounced 隣 + 一 fanqie. The Jixun says: “'Zhanli' (戰慄) means fearful and frightened.” Guo Pu says: “Anxious and grieved.” The Shuowen says: “'Zhan' derives from the spear radical [戈] with '單' as phonetic.” Alternatively, it is written with the heart radical as '𢥇', and in ancient script as '𣥭'. 'Li' (慄) likewise derives from the heart radical with '栗' as phonetic.)
