愛憎（則登反韓詩云憎猶惡也說文亦云惡也從心從八從小從曰者也）。

Love and hatred (愛憎: for the second character, ze [則] + deng [登] fan. The Han text of the Book of Odes says: “憎 (zēng) is like 惡 (to hate).” The Shuowen also says: “It means to hate.” It is formed from heart [心], from eight [八], from small [小], and from say [曰]).
