加祜（胡古反鄭箋詩云祜福也爾雅福之原也說文從示古聲也經或作祐音右說文助也於義亦通易上繫孔子曰天之所助者順也人所助者信也說文從示右聲也示音祇也）。

加祜 (bestow blessing; the latter is hu/gu fan; Zheng's notes to the Odes say: '祜 means blessing'; Erya says: 'The source of blessing'; Shuowen jiezi says: 'Composed of 示 with 古 phonetic'; the sūtra also writes it as 祐, pronounced you; Shuowen jiezi says: 'To assist', which also fits the meaning; in the Upper Xici of the Book of Changes, Confucius said: 'That which Heaven assists is obedience; that which people assist is faithfulness'; Shuowen jiezi says: 'Composed of 示 with 右 phonetic'; 示 is pronounced qi).
