聰叡（上音悤韓詩聰明也毛詩傳聞也說文察也從耳悤聲也下音銳博雅智也尚書聖也集訓通於微也說文深明也從𱥌從目谷省也𱥌音殘）。

聰叡 (discerning and insightful; the former is pronounced cong; the Han Text of the Odes says: '聰 means bright'; the Mao Commentary says 'hearing'; Shuowen jiezi says: 'Perceptive; composed of 耳 with 悤 phonetic'; the latter is pronounced rui; Boya says 'wise'; the Book of Documents says 'sagacious'; Jixun says 'penetrating the subtle'; Shuowen jiezi says 'profoundly clear; composed of 𱥌, 目, and an abbreviated 谷'; 𱥌 is pronounced can).
