板片（上班簡反集訓云以鋸析木為板說文從片作板判木也經從木俗字亦通下篇遍反蒼頡篇云片判木也說文半木字也）。

板片 (wooden planks; the former is ban/jian fan; Jixun says: 'Splitting wood with a saw produces planks'; Shuowen jiezi writes it with radical 片 as 板, meaning split wood; the sūtra uses radical 木, which is a vulgar character but also accepted; the latter is pian/bian fan; Cang Jie Pian says: '片 means split wood'; Shuowen jiezi says: 'The character for half a log').
