扇搋半擇迦（搋音勅加反經作𭡁不成字迦音薑佉反梵語也唐曰黃門其類有五如毘柰耶大律中廣說今記略頌曰天犍妒變半是也）。

扇搋半擇迦 ('Chuāi' is *chì* + *jiā* [fanqie: chāi]; in the sūtra text it is written as 𭡁, which does not form a proper character. 'Jiā' is *jiāng* + *qū* [fanqie: jiā]; a Sanskrit term [ṣaṇḍha-paṇḍaka], in the Tang language called 'eunuch' (huángmén). There are five kinds, as explained in detail in the great Vinaya texts. A summary verse recorded here says: "The innate, the castrated, the jealous, the variable, and the half-monthly; these are the five").
