棚閣（上白萠反廣雅云棚亦閣也說文棚棧也從木朋聲下岡鄂反蒼頡篇云閣樓閣也廣雅閣食匱也鄭注禮記云閣者以板為之𢇮食物者也顧野王云重屋複道也從門各聲𢇮音羈綺反食櫃𢇮閣也）。

棚閣 (The upper character is fanqie b[ai] + m[eng]. The Guangya says: '棚 is also a pavilion (ge).' The Shuowen says: 'A 棚 is a wooden scaffold; it derives from 木 with 朋 as phonetic.' The lower character is fanqie g[ang] + [e]. The Cang Jie pian says: '閣 means a multi-storied pavilion.' The Guangya says: 'A 閣 is a food cabinet.' Zheng's commentary on the Liji says: 'A 閣 is made of boards for storing food.' Gu Yewang says: 'A multi-storied building with covered corridors; it derives from 門 with 各 as phonetic.' 𢇮 is fanqie j[i] + q[i]. A food cabinet is a 𢇮閣.)
