癵曲（劣袁反聲類云癵病也顧野王云謂病身體拘曲也古今正字從疒臠聲考聲正作癵經文從手作攣攣係論語云所以拘罪人也非經義疒音女厄反臠音劣袞反）。

Contorted and bent (癵曲: with the fanqie lüe-yuan; the Shenglei states that 癵 is an illness; Gu Yewang states that it refers to an illness in which the body is contracted and bent; the Gujin zhengzi states that it is formed from 'sickness' [疒] with 臠 as phonetic; the Kaosheng writes it standardly as 癵; the sūtra text writes it with 'hand' as 攣; 攣 relates to the Analects' usage of binding criminals, which is not the sūtra's meaning; 疒 has the fanqie nü-e; 臠 has the fanqie lüe-gun).
