Capable of drying (能燥: the second character has the sound s- [騷] + -ǎo [早] fanqie. The Classic of Changes says: 'Water flows to the wet; fire moves to the dry (燥).' The Shuowen says: 'Dry; formed from the fire radical (火) with zào (喿) as phonetic; 喿 has the same sound as above').
