啟迪（下徒歷反孔注尚書云迪蹈也言信蹈行古人之德也又云迪教導也方言迪正也東徐青齊之間相正謂之迪也說文從由辵聲）。

Inspire and guide (啟迪: the second character has the sound d- [徒] + -í [歷] fanqie. Kong's commentary on the Book of Documents says: '迪 means to tread upon; it means faithfully treading and practicing the virtue of the ancients.' It also says: '迪 means to instruct and guide.' The Fangyan says: '迪 means to rectify; between eastern Xu, Qing, and Qi, rectifying one another is called 迪.' The Shuowen says: 'Formed with yóu (由) and the movement radical (辵) as phonetic').
