膏主（上槀熬反鄭注禮記云腥豕膏也又羶羊脂也膏凝者曰脂也說文從肉高聲下朱乳反亦通去聲考聲云主鐙心也集訓云鐙內布也說文鐙中火主也象形從丶聲丶音誅縷反經從火作炷亦通用）。

膏主 (The first character is pronounced with the fanqie 槀 + 熬. Zheng's commentary on the Liji says: rank fat is swine grease (膏); gamy fat is sheep tallow (脂); coagulated grease is called tallow. The Shuowen says: it takes the 'flesh' radical and 高 as phonetic. The second character is pronounced with the fanqie 朱 + 乳, and may also be read in the departing tone. The Kaosheng says: 主 is the wick of a lamp. The Jixun says: the cloth inside a lamp. The Shuowen says: the fire-master (wick) inside a lamp; a pictograph, taking 丶 as phonetic. 丶 is pronounced with the fanqie 誅 + 縷. In the sūtra it is written with the 'fire' radical as 炷, which is also commonly used.)
