楞伽（上勒登反俗字也正作棱從木夌聲或作槾為是梵語不求字訓正梵音云䮚迦山名也勒鄧反去聲並上聲字也此亦寶名也此山多饒此寶故以為名在南海中師子國西南隅海島大山也）。

楞伽 (The first character has the fanqie 勒登; a popular character; standardly written 棱, semantic wood, phonetic 夌; sometimes written 槾. Because it is Sanskrit, one does not seek a Chinese character gloss. The correct Sanskrit sound is laṅkā, the name of a mountain; fanqie: 勒鄧, departing tone, and also rising-tone character. This is also the name of a precious gem; because this mountain abounds in this gem, it was named after it. It is a great island mountain in the southwest corner of the country of Siṃhala in the Southern Sea).
