嫉妬（上秦悉反俗字也下都故反正從戶作妒王注楚辭云害賢曰嫉害色曰妒說文皆從女並形聲字也）。

嫉妬 (upper: *dzin* + *sit* [jí]: A popular character. Lower: *tu* + *ku* [dù]: Correctly written with the door radical as 妒. Wang [Yi]'s commentary on the *Chuci* says: 'Grudging talent is called 嫉; grudging beauty is called 妒.' The *Shuowen jiezi* says: 'Both follow the female radical and are phono-semantic compound characters').
