懷妊（壬鴆反毛詩傳云妊謂懷任是也廣雅云妊㑗也桂苑珠藂云妊謂婦人懷孕也說文妊亦孕也從女從壬壬亦聲妊又平聲今不取也㑗音身考聲云㑗謂婦人有胎也）。

Conceiving a child (懷妊; *ren* + *zhen* [rèn]; the *Mao Shijing* commentary says: "妊 means being pregnant with child." The *Guangya* says: "妊 means 㑗." The *Guiyuan zhucun* says: "妊 refers to a woman conceiving." The *Shuowen jiezi* says: "妊 also means pregnant; it has the woman radical and 壬; 壬 is also phonetic." 妊 also has an even tone, which is not adopted here. 㑗 is pronounced *shēn*; the *Kaosheng* says: "㑗 refers to a woman having a fetus").
