拯濟（拯取䒱字上聲桂菀珠叢云拯救拔出溺也杜注左傳云拯助也廣雅云拯救也古今正字從手丞聲說文或作抍又作撜並同上音下賚計反孔注尚書云濟渡也杜注左傳云濟益也賈注國語云濟成也說文從水齊聲也）。

Rescuing and delivering (拯濟: for 拯, take the rising tone of the character 䒱. The *Guiyuan zhuchong* states: "*Zheng* (拯) means to rescue and pull out from drowning." Du [Yu]'s commentary to the *Zuo zhuan* states: "*Zheng* means to assist." The *Guangya* states: "*Zheng* means to rescue." The *Gujin zhengzi* states: "Derived from 手, with 丞 as its phonetic component." The *Shuowen* notes it is also written as 抍 or 撜; both have the same pronunciation as above. The lower character is 賚計 fanqie. Kong's commentary to the *Book of Documents* states: "*Ji* (濟) means to cross over." Du's commentary to the *Zuo zhuan* states: "*Ji* means to benefit." Jia [Kui]'s commentary to the *Guoyu* states: "*Ji* means to bring to fruition." The *Shuowen* states: "Derived from 水, with 齊 as its phonetic component").
