Delight and rejoicing (忻樂: the upper character is pronounced 昕. Jia's commentary to the *Guoyu* states: "*Xin* (欣) means rejoicing (樂)." The *Mao Commentary* to the *Classic of Poetry* states: "*Xin* also means rejoicing." The *Guangya* states: "*Xin* means joy (喜)." The *Shuowen* states: "*Xin* describes laughing and joy; derived from 心, with 斤 as its phonetic component." It is also written as 訢 or 欣).
