癈瘕（上甫吠反鄭注禮記云癈謂癈於人事也說文癈固疾也從疒發聲下赫加反鄭箋毛詩云瘕病也郭注山海經云瘕肺病也說文從疒叚聲也）。

癈瘕 (crippling debility and visceral masses; the first character is 甫吠反; Zheng [Xuan's] commentary on the Book of Rites states that 癈 means being disabled from human affairs; the Shuowen jiezi states that 癈 means an intractable chronic illness; it takes the 'sickness' (疒) radical with 發 as phonetic; the second character is 赫加反; Zheng [Xuan's] supplementary notes to the Classic of Poetry states that 瘕 means a disease; Guo [Pu's] commentary on the Shanhaijing states that 瘕 is a lung disease; the Shuowen jiezi states that it takes the 'sickness' (疒) radical with 叚 as phonetic).
