馳騁（上雉知反下頳領反廣雅云騁馳奔也杜注左傳云騁亦走也說文騁大驅也亦直馳也馳騁二字並從馬也甹皆聲甹音匹丁反）。

馳騁, [gallop and sprint] (the upper character is zhì + zhī fanqie; the lower character is chēng + lǐng fanqie. The Guangya says: "Chěng (騁) and chí (馳) mean to rush." Du's commentary on the Zuozhuan says: "Chěng also means to run." The Shuowen jiezi says: "Chěng means to gallop fast; it also means to rush straight ahead." Both characters, chí and chěng, are classified under the horse radical (馬), with [their respective elements] phonetic; pǐng (甹) is pǐ + dīng fanqie).
