（佛陀波利得經將向西州寺訪得解梵語漢僧順真共翻亦是儀鳳四年再譯一本八紙見經前敘說第三譯也佛陀波利將梵本經入五臺山至今不出又至永淳元年壬午歲日照三藏又再譯此經一遍沙門彥琮筆授為正杜行顗所譯經中隱諱不書之字所以重譯八紙第四譯也而復見經首彥琮序云）。

(Buddhapāli, having obtained the sūtra, took it to the Xizhou Monastery and found the Chinese monk Shunzhen, who understood Sanskrit, and together they translated it. This was also in the fourth year of the Yifeng era, making another retranslation of eight sheets, as recounted in the preface before the sūtra; this was the third translation. Buddhapāli took the Sanskrit sūtra into Mount Wutai and has not emerged to this day. Then, in the first year of the Yongchun era [682 CE], a renwu year, Tripiṭaka Master Divākara again retranslated this sūtra once, with the monk Yancong taking down the text, in order to rectify the characters that had been omitted and not written due to taboos in Du Xingyi's translation; thus it was retranslated in eight sheets, being the fourth translation, as also seen in Yancong's preface at the head of the sūtra).
