Flaws and cataracts (The first character is pronounced xiá. Zheng's commentary on the Liji states: 'Xiá means defect.' The Shuowen says it takes 'jade' with jiǎ as phonetic. The second is yī + jì fanqie. The Kaosheng says: 'A disease in the eye.' Guo Pu states: 'Yì means an obstruction; covering over.' The Shuowen says: 'A floral canopy.' It takes 'eye' with yì as phonetic; yì is pronounced the same as above, an ancient form).
