躊躇（上直留反亦音池下音除又音厨毛詩傳愛而不見搔首躊躇案躊躇者狐疑猶豫也廣疋亦云躊躇猶豫也又云蹢䠱跢跦也）。

躊躇: The first character has the fanqie zhi + liu (chóu), and is also pronounced chi (chí). The second character is pronounced chu (chú), and also pronounced chu (chú). The *Mao Shi Zhuan* states: 'Loved yet unseen, scratching his head and pacing back and forth (chouchu).' I note: chouchu denotes being suspicious and hesitant. The *Guangya* also says: 'Chouchu means hesitant; it also means to pace and falter (zhizhu/dizhu).'
