枝柯（上音支毛詩惟作之枝其葉蓬蓬說文云水別生也從木支聲也說文從半竹從又作支下音哥廣雅柯莖也顧野王云柯亦枝柯也形聲字也蒼頡篇從加從心作恕音同上）。

枝柯: The first character has the pronunciation of 支. The Classic of Poetry only writes it as 之: 'its branches (枝) and leaves are luxuriant.' The Shuowen [jiezi] says: "A lateral offshoot of a plant. Composed of the wood radical (木) and 支 phonetic." The Shuowen [jiezi] states that 支 is composed of half a bamboo with 又. The second character has the pronunciation of 哥. The Guangya says: "柯 means stem." Gu Yewang says: "柯 also means bough (枝柯). It is a phono-semantic character." The Cangjie pian writes it with 加 and 心 as 恕, with the same pronunciation as above.
