㸦起（胡固反字書云互也說文從竹作[竺-二+(牙-(必-心)+一)]可以收繩者也隸書省去竹作互經文作互俗字誤也與互字相參非也）。

㸦起 [mutually arising] (The first character has the fanqie [胡+固] hù. The Zishu says: it means mutual. The Shuowen writes it with 'bamboo' as [竺-二+(牙-(必-心)+一)], an implement used to wind rope; in clerical script the bamboo was omitted to write 互. In the sūtra text it is written as 互, which is mistaken as a vulgar character; conflating it with the character hù is incorrect).
