鶙鶘 (Pelican: The upper character has the fanqie 徒鷄 [tí]; the lower character has the sound 胡 [hú]. It is also written as 剃 or 𠜁. The Erya says: "Now the tihu likes to fly in flocks and enter the water to eat fish, hence it is called the swamp-bird (wuze). The common people also call it the 'river-dredging bird'." The Classic of Poetry says: "Only the pelicans are on the dam." The Guliang zhuan says: "The bird of the swamps").
