潤滑（上如順反尚書水曰潤下潤下作鹹鹹音咸廣雅溼也下還刮反說文滑利也考聲乘利也刮音開滑反竝從水形聲字也）。

Moist and smooth (潤滑: the upper character [潤] is pronounced *r[u]* + *[sh]un* [rùn]. The *Shangshu* says: "Water is said to moisten downwards; moistening downwards produces saltiness." *Xian* (鹹) is pronounced *x[ian]* [xián]. The *Guangya* says: "Moist." The lower character [滑] is pronounced *h[uan]* + *[g]ua* [huá]. The *Shuowen [jiezi]* says: "*Hua* means smooth and slippery." The *Kaosheng* says: "Availing oneself of smoothness." *Gua* (刮) is pronounced *k[ai]* + *[h]ua* [huā]. Both characters are phono-semantic, classified under water (水)).
