拯濟（上取䒱字上聲杜注左傳云拯助也方言云拯拔出溺為拯說文云正作抍云上舉也從手[廾-┬+下]聲經文作䒱音軄仍反非也今不取）。

拯濟 ('to save and deliver'; the first character takes the rising tone of the character 䒱; Du's commentary on the Zuo zhuan says: '拯 [zheng] means to assist'; the Fangyan says: '拯 [zheng] means pulling someone out from drowning'; the Shuowen says: 'The orthodox character is 抍, meaning to lift upward; it is formed from 手 with [廾-┬+下] as phonetic'; the sūtra text writes 䒱, pronounced with the fanqie 軄 [zhi] + 仍 [reng], which is incorrect; we do not accept it here).
