Flaws and blemishes (瑕玷; the first character has the fanqie 上 + 加. Zheng Xuan says: 'A defect in jade; a reddish blemish in jade.' It is formed with the 'jade' radical [玉] and takes xiá [叚] as its phonetic element. The second character has the fanqie 丁 + 簟. The Zitong says: 'A diàn is a notch or blemish.' It is formed with the 'jade' radical [玉] and takes zhān [占] as its phonetic element).
