Its gills (其鰓; the second character has the fanqie 塞 + 來. The Kaosheng says: 'The flesh in the cheeks of a fish.' The Shuowen jiezi writes it as 䚡, stating: 'The bone within a horn.' It is formed with the 'horn' radical [角] and takes sī [思] as its phonetic element. The text of the ritual writes 腮, but upon checking character dictionaries, this does not appear at all; it is feared to be an error).
