霈注（上坏貝反考聲云雨多皃也諸字書並作沛云滂沛也下朱戍反水懸下也從水經文從兩作霔俗用字非也）。

霈注 (the first character is 坏 + 貝 fanqie; the Kaosheng says: “The appearance of heavy rain”; all the dictionaries write it as 沛, saying it means torrentially surging; the second character is 朱 + 戍 fanqie, meaning water pouring down; it is derived from 水 (water); the sūtra text writes it under 雨 (rain) as 霔, which is a vulgar character and incorrect).
