煒燁（上韋鬼反毛詩傳云煒色赤色皃也說文煒盛赤也從火韋聲下炎業反說文燁亦盛也從火[日/(俎-且+(俎-且))/(百-日+ㄎ)]聲詩云燁燁電也經從華作曄隸書字也[日/(俎-且+(俎-且))/(百-日+ㄎ)]音同上）。

煒燁 (The first character has the fanqie 韋鬼. The *Mao Commentary on the Shijing* says: "Wěi (煒) is the appearance of bright red color." The *Shuowen jiezi* says: "Wěi means brilliant red; it derives from 'fire' (火) with 韋 as the phonetic." The second character has the fanqie 炎業. The *Shuowen jiezi* says: "Yè (燁) also means brilliant; it derives from 'fire' (火) with [日/(俎-且+(俎-且))/(百-日+ㄎ)] as the phonetic." The *Shijing* says: "Ye-ye flashes the lightning." The sūtra writes it from 華 as 曄, which is a clerical-script character. The sound of [日/(俎-且+(俎-且))/(百-日+ㄎ)] is the same as above).
