踊躍（上容腫反杜注左傳踊躍跳也公羊傳上也進也說文從足甬聲經作踴俗字也下羊灼反廣雅跳也尒雅迅也說文從足翟聲翟音宅）。

Leaping with joy (踊躍: the upper character has the fanqie róng + zhǒng [yǒng]; Du's commentary on the Zuo zhuan states: 'Yǒngyuè means jumping'; Gongyang zhuan says: 'Ascending; advancing'; Shuowen jiezi derives it from 足 "foot" with 甬 phonetic; in the sūtra it is written as 踴, which is a vulgar character. The lower character has the fanqie yáng + zhuó [yuè]; Guangya says: 'To jump'; Erya says: 'Swift'; Shuowen jiezi derives it from 足 "foot" with 翟 phonetic; 翟 is pronounced zhái).
