負債（上扶武反顧野王云背恩忘德曰負說文恃也從人守貝有所恃也又云受貸不償故人下從貝為負下責賣反考聲云債負也負他財寶也從人責聲）。

Indebted (負債: the upper character has the fanqie fú + wǔ [fù]; Gu Yewang states: 'Turning one's back on kindness and forgetting virtue is called fù'; Shuowen jiezi says: 'To rely upon; derived from 人 "person" watching over 貝 "cowrie shells", having something to rely on'; it also says: 'Receiving a loan and not repaying, hence under 人 is placed 貝 to make 負'. The lower character has the fanqie zé + mài [zhài]; Kaosheng states: 'Zhài means debt; being indebted for another's wealth; derived from 人 with 責 phonetic').
