劬勞（上具愚反考聲勤也亦勞也從力句聲下老刀反周禮事切曰勞賈注國語勞疲也尒雅勤也說文劇也從力從𤇾省熒從焱冖癸營反）。

Toil and labor (劬勞: the first [character] is *g(yu)* + *ng(yu)* in fanqie. The Kaosheng says: 'Diligent; also toilsome; derived from 力 with 句 phonetic.' The second [character] is *l(aw)* + *t(aw)* in fanqie. The Zhouli says: 'Pressing affairs are called 勞.' Jia [Kui's] commentary on the Guoyu says: '勞 means fatigued.' The Erya says: 'Diligent.' The Shuowen says: 'Strenuous; derived from 力 with 𤇾 abbreviated; 熒 derives from 焱 and 冖, pronounced *k(wi)* + *'(eng)* in fanqie.')
