鰥寡（上寡頑反禮記云老而無妻曰鱞尚書云有鱞在下為舜年而無室也從魚從𥄳音踏下寡音關瓦反考聲云獨也寡謂婦人無夫之稱也下從分）。

Widowers and widows (鰥寡: the first [character] is *k(wa)* + *ng(wan)* in fanqie. The Liji says: 'An old man without a wife is called 鱞.' The Shangshu says: 'There is a widower below,' referring to Shun's being of mature age without a household. It derives from 魚 with 𥄳, pronounced *tà*. The second [character], 寡, is pronounced *k(wan)* + *w(a)* in fanqie. The Kaosheng says: 'Solitary; 寡 is the designation for a woman without a husband.' The lower part derives from 分.)
