Steep and perilous (險峻: [險 is] *h(yap)* + *k(yem)* in fanqie. Jia [Kui's] commentary on the Guoyu says: '險 means perilous.' The Fangyan says: 'High.' The Shuowen gives it under 阜 with 僉 phonetic. In the sūtra it is written as 嶮, which is incorrect. The second [character] is *s(yun)* + *ts(yun)* in fanqie. Kong [Anguo's] commentary on the Shangshu says: '峻 means lofty.' The Shuowen gives it under 山 with 夋 phonetic; also written as 陖.)
