俳優（敗埋反愽雅云俳亦優也說文戲也從人非聲下於尤反顧野王云優者樂人所為戲笑以自怡悅也杜注左傳亦調戲也蒼頡篇云樂也說文從人憂聲）。

俳優 (actors and jesters: [the upper character] has the fanqie bai + mai. The Boya says: "Pai (俳) also means an actor (you)." The Shuowen says: "To play." It is formed with the "person" semantic classifier and the fei (非) phonetic component. The lower character has the fanqie yu + you. Gu Yewang says: "An actor (you) is an entertainer who makes playful jokes to delight people." Du's commentary on the Zuozhuan also says: "To jest." The Cangjiepian says: "Music." The Shuowen says it is formed with the "person" semantic classifier and the you (憂) phonetic component).
