枯槁（上苦姑反說文枯亦槁也從木古聲下苦老反考聲云槁乾也說文作槀木枯也從木高聲亦作𣩅）。

枯槁 (withered and dried up: the upper character has the fanqie ku + gu. The Shuowen says: "Ku (枯) also means dried up." It is formed with the "wood" semantic classifier and the gu (古) phonetic component. The lower character has the fanqie ku + lao. The Kaosheng says: "Gao (槁) means dried out." The Shuowen writes it as 槀, meaning dried wood; it is formed with the "wood" semantic classifier and the gao (高) phonetic component. It is also written as 𣩅).
