耕墾（古衡反蒼頡篇云耕亦墾田也山海經云后稷之孫叔均始作耕郭注云始用牛犂也說文從耒井聲或作畊古字也下康佷反蒼頡篇云墾亦耕也廣雅理也說文從土貇聲佷音痕本反）。

Plowing and tilling (耕墾: [耕 has the fanqie] 古衡反. The Cang Jie pian says: '耕 also means tilling the fields (墾田).' The Shanhai jing says: 'Shujun, grandson of Houji, began the practice of plowing.' Guo's commentary says: 'He first used oxen and plows.' The Shuowen [says it is] composed of 耒 with 井 phonetic; it is also written as 畊, which is an ancient character. The lower [character has the fanqie] 康佷反. The Cang Jie pian says: '墾 also means to plow (耕).' The Guangya says: 'To manage/work (理).' The Shuowen [says it is] composed of 土 with 貇 phonetic. 佷 has the sound 痕本反).
