捫摸（上沒奔反毛詩注云捫持也聲類亦摸也說文從手門聲下忙愽反方言摸𢱢摩挲也說文從手莫聲經文下從手作摹譯經者錯用此音謀非此用也）。

Grope and feel (捫摸: the upper [character has the fanqie] 沒奔反. The commentary on the Mao Poetry says: '捫 means to hold.' The Shenglei says it also means to feel (摸). The Shuowen [says it is] composed of 手 with 門 phonetic. The lower [character has the fanqie] 忙愽反. The Fangyan says: '摸𢱢 means to stroke and feel.' The Shuowen [says it is] composed of 手 with 莫 phonetic. In the sūtra text it is written below with 手 as 摹; the translators used this mistakenly; its pronunciation is 謀, which is not for this usage).
