Fetters and chains (羈鎖: the first character is pronounced [寄 + 冝] j-ī [jī]. Wang Yi's commentary on the Chuci says: "Using leather to halter a horse's head." The Shiming says: "To restrain; that by which one binds and controls." The Shuowen derives it from 网 with 䩻 as phonetic. 䩻 is pronounced the same; it is also written 羇. The second character is pronounced [蘇 + 果] s-uǒ [suǒ]. The Kaosheng says: "A lock. The Guangya says: 'Interlinked rings.' It derives from 金 with 𧴲 as phonetic." 𧴲 is pronounced the same as above).
