Zhen-poison wine (鴆酒) (the first character has the fanqie 沈禁反. The Guangya says: “The zhen is a bird.” Guo Pu says: “It resembles an eagle, green in colour, with a long neck and red beak; it eats snakes, and is found on Mount Nüji. Its feathers are poisonous; if wine is stirred with them, drinking it results in death.” The Shuowen jiezi says: “A poisonous bird; one source calls it the carrier of poison. It takes 鳥 [bird] as its semantic component and 冘 as its phonetic component”).
